A fully integrated output capacitor, MOS-only reference, 55mnm low-dropout regulator (LDO) with optimized area and power is proposed in this letter for system-on-chip (SoC) self-powered Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The small capacitor saves both cost, but brings challenges to the system’s stability transient response. In order improve system area, a dynamic attenuation buffer along nested miller compensation are ensure sufficient phase margin over load range. To response power, branch-based slew-rate enhancement (BBSRE) circuit applied without additional quiescent current. Also, multi-threshold voltage reference implemented achieve sub-1V nanopower consumption area. LDO fabricated 55 nm CMOS process 5pF, occupying an 264µm×300µm. current 2µA figure-of-merit (FOM) 2.
